Here is a quick recap of the topic:
Through the IATF (International Automotive Task Force), the new automotive standard has been given the designation IATF 16949 and was published in October 2016. Since last September only IATF 16949 certificates are allowed. Since then, certification companies have only been auditing and certifying according to this standard. ISO TS 16949 audits and certificates are no longer permitted. The standard combines all important overlaps from previous and nationally published automotive quality standards such as QS-9000, VDA 6.1, EAQF 94 and AVSQ. IATF 16949 provides a holistic approach to quality improvement by formally committing to excellence, cost efficiency and on-time delivery.
